      The 2021 Jeep Gladiator Overland is that rare truck that will take a rutted river road in stride and still be pleasant on the drive home. This one wears Bright White Clearcoat with the body-color Freedom Top three-piece hard top, so the panels come off when the weather is right and go back on when it is not.

      Underneath, it is a proper Jeep. Command-Trac part-time four-wheel drive, heavy-duty wide Dana 44 axles front and rear, a 3.73 axle ratio, and skid plates over the fuel tank, transfer case, and transmission. The 3.6-liter V6 and eight-speed automatic handle trail duty and tow duty alike, with four and seven-pin wiring plus electronic trailer sway control already fitted from the factory.

      The cabin is genuinely nice for a truck built to get dirty. Quilted Nappa leather-trimmed bucket seats with caramel accents, an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an Alpine premium audio system. The Jeep Active Safety Group adds blind-spot and cross-path detection with ParkSense rear park assist, and it rolls on 20-inch gloss black aluminum wheels.
